Fourth Graders spent a day at the North Lakeland Discovery Center learning all about tracking animals. First, they practiced walking around like different north woods animals. They learned how to identify tracks left in the snow by the amount of toes, claws and print size. Then, they put their noses to the test by playing a scent tracking game outside. Different scents were sprayed on the snow and a student pretending to be a wolf had to track a deer (another student) using a specific scent the deer was spraying. We ended the day by learning how to snowshoe. The fourth graders had a great time at the North Lakeland Discovery Center and are really excited to go back!
