Mercer High Schoolers Go Career Exploring

Mercer high school students traveled to Wausau on Friday, April 21 to attend the Career Expo at UWSP-Wausau. In addition to learning how to find "the right college fit", students connected with local employers to learn about career opportunities in the following areas: 

  • Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Math

  • Architecture and Construction

  • Manufacturing: Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics

  • Hospitality and Tourism

  • Education and Training

  • Information Technology

  • Finance; Marketing: Business Management and Administration

  • Human Services

  • Health Sciences

  • Government and Public Administration: Law, Public Safety, Corrections and Security

  • Arts, AV Technology and Communications

It is vital that students are exposed to opportunities that help them plan for life beyond high school.

In addition to field trips like this one, students begin completing an interest inventory and skill survey in middle school and explore careers that align. Whether students leave Mercer School to enter employment, enlist in the military, or enroll in post-secondary education, we support critical thinkers who will be successful in their personal pathway.
